For a startup, there’s no better opportunity to connect directly with key financial decision-makers and public sector leaders than at the annual National GFOA conference. From June 29 to July 2, 2025, thousands of public finance professionals will gather at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC for the 119th Annual Conference of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). With over 6,000 state and local government employees expected to attend, the conference is a premier event for exploring the future of government financial management. For Timework, a software services provider dedicated to modernizing workforce and financial systems in the public sector, attendance is not just important—it’s essential.
GFOA’s Annual Conference isn’t just another industry event. It’s a convergence of key decision-makers in finance, HR, IT, and operational leadership from municipalities, counties, and states across the U.S. With more than 70CPE-accredited sessions, the event offers deep insight into the most pressing challenges and emerging solutions in government finance—from automation and compliance to cybersecurity and digital transformation. It is always interesting to learn from State and Local officials on the unique solutions they are utilizing, and or hear about the business challenges they are trying to solve. Over the years, it has come to enhance my story telling of why one strategy may be better than another. It has also given me hundreds of different unique perspectives how organizations are all solving similar business challenges. One quick, "hello - where are you from?" can sometimes turn into, "hey, yes that is what I am looking to solve!"
For Timework, which specializes in optimizing time and labor, payroll compliance, and business application integration, the conference offers a unique opportunity to directly engage with the very audience our solutions are designed to support. Our presence shows our continued commitment to understanding government pain points and helping public agencies streamline operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve employee experiences through smarter systems.

The conference gives us a platform to share those successes and demonstrate our value to new jurisdictions looking for trusted implementation and support partners.
Learn and Innovate with Industry Leaders
With over 70 technical sessions and workshops led by government finance experts, GFOA provides insight into the latestb legislative updates, technology shifts, and best practices shaping the future of public sector finance. Timework’s participation helps us stay ahead of trends so we can continuously evolve our offerings in alignment with what public agencies truly need.
Expand Our Public Sector Network
Networking at GFOA is not passive—it’s purposeful. From collaborative workshops to one-on-one conversations, the event enables genuine connections with finance directors, CIOs, HR executives, and operational leads. These relationships are critical to helping Timework stay informed and position our solutions effectively.
Timework’s mission is rooted in helping public sector organizations navigate the complexity of workforce systems, compliance challenges, and digital modernization.
